And for quite some time now, there has been a pressing need to have a consistent set of rules, guidelines, or definition of low-emissions steel, aka green steel. On 14 September 2022, ResponsibleSteel launched the International Standard V2.0 in a bid to increase reliability, ensure consistency, enable buyers to specify what green procurement means and maximise steel’s contribution to a sustainable society.
DNV approves POSCO’s low-CO2 Greenable steel plates to build wind turbines
POSCO and DNV signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the certification of steel products applied in the wind power sector and started the certification process in March.
POSCO and Tata Steel sites achieve ResponsibleSteel certification
The sites are Pohang and Gwangyang Steelworks in South Korea operated by POSCO together with the Jamshedpur site in India operated by Tata Steel.
