Vulcan Green Steel to build Oman´s first green hydrogen-ready steel plant

The Construction of Vulcan Green Steel´s green-hydrgen-ready steel plant in Oman commenced on November 27. The plant will be located in the Duqm Special Economic zone.

The plan is to power the plant by using renewable energy, in result producing 5 million metric tonnes of green steel per year. The investment value is estimated to be 3 billion USD.

The steel produced within this project is aimed for the automotive sector, electrical tools sector and the wind turbine sector. When in full swing, it is estimated that this plant will achieve 12 mtpa in CO2 emission reduction.
