PSI Metals and ArcelorMittal Europe signed a supplementary contract at the end of 2021, deepening their cooperation in the areas of Manufacturing and Execution System (MES) and production management solutions. As early as 2014, the ArcelorMittal Group and PSI Metals concluded a master agreement for the worldwide implementation of the solution.
The software now covers important functional areas such as planning, quality, logistics and production at ArcelorMittal locations in Europe, America and Asia. With the addition to the contract, both companies are accelerating the further implementation of PSI Metals at their European sites for flat and long products.
This allows ArcelorMittal to benefit from an increase in production efficiency, an improvement in product quality and lean customer service. This optimisation can support ArcelorMittal’s decarbonisation objectives to reduce emissions in Europe by 35 percent by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
“We are proud to support ArcelorMittal, one of the world’s leading steel manufacturers, for more than 20 years. This renewed agreement, which strategically aligns the interests of both companies, comes at a time when the steel industry is entering the next phase of digitization and decarbonization,” sums up Thomas Quinet, Managing Director of PSI Metals and adds: “PSI will provide the MES digitization platform specially developed for this industry. This can be implemented by the ArcelorMittal Center of Excellence, PSI Metals consultants or system integrators.”
