SSAB replaces the blast furnaces in Oxelösund, Sweden with an electric arc furnace and associated raw material handling. The aim is for the new production system to be up and running towards the end of 2026.

SSAB and Alstom entered a partnership for the supply of low-emission steel. The first delivery of SSAB Zero™ will take place already this year and be used in Alstom’s first Traxx Shunter™ locomotives.
