BlueScope, BHP and Rio Tinto have selected the Kwinana Industrial Area, south of Perth, as the location to develop Australia’s largest ironmaking electric smelting furnace (ESF) pilot plant.
Rio Tinto has entered into definitive agreements with GravitHy, to help accelerate GravitHy’s steel decarbonisation project in France.
H2 Green Steel is partnering with Rio Tinto, a leading global metals and mining company, for the supply of direct reduction iron ore pellet for its green steel production in Sweden.
The MoU’s focus areas include low-carbon sintering technology, blast furnace (BF) and basic oxygen furnace (BOF) optimisation, and carbon capture and utilisation (CCU).
The focus will be on the future supply of high-quality iron ore products for the SALCOS program.
