SMS group, a specialist in plant construction and mechanical engineering for the metals industry, has selected ABB’s latest generation of drives to provide process technology for H2 Green Steel plant in Boden, Sweden.
Brazilian steel producer is the first in South America to benefit from ABB’s electric arc furnace-specific VD4-AF circuit breaker technology designed to withstand the extreme demands made by EAFs and increase output while improving safety.
Tata Steel Ltd and global technology leader ABB have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and will work together to co-create innovative models and technologies to help reduce the carbon footprint of steel production.
By using FC Mold G3, Thyssenkrupp can prevent gas bubbles and impurities in steel.
