The agreement involves jointly designing and implementing a circularity scheme that will enhance the recycling of steel between the two companies. This collaboration will allow automotive customers to maintain their CO2 emissions reduction goals over the lifespan of the vehicle.

Through the collaboration, KIRCHHOFF Automotive, manufacturer of safety-relevant structural components for the international automotive industry, can reduce the CO2 footprint by 40%. SSAB Fossil-free SteelTM is a steel developed by SSAB – raw material supplier to KIRCHHOFF Automotive.

Blastr Green Steel (Blastr) has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Redcar Bulk Terminal (RBT) at Teesside, United Kingdom, to explore the opportunity for RBT becoming the location for Blastr´s pellet plant for supplying feedstock to its steel plant being developed in Inkoo, Finland.

Blastr Green Steel AS, a leading developer of ultra-low C02 steel products, and Cargill, a leading player along the global ferrous supply chain, have signed a strategic framework agreement reflecting a strong joint commitment to realize the Blastr Green Steel Project to radically decarbonise steel production.

H2 Green Steel has signed a 7-year binding agreement with ZF, one of the biggest suppliers to the automotive industry globally. Deliveries of near zero emissions steel are set to begin in 2026. This agreement will see H2 Green Steel also work closely with ZF’s sub-suppliers, with the goal of driving the steel industry transformation as an integrated approach in the entire supply chain.

Landmark agreement will see H2 Green Steel provide sustainable material for building Scania trucks. By doing this, Scania is continuing its progress towards minimizing the climate impact from its supply chain.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Vestre had become the first furniture company anywhere in the world to use SSAB's fossil-free steel. Vestre strives to be at the forefront of the green shift, and has always been quick to test new technologies and solutions in order to reduce their overall climate impact.

Hydnum Steel and Primetals Technologies signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the intention of building a new "green" steel mill in Puertollano, Spain.

thyssenkrupp Steel and Mercedes-Benz have agreed to expand their existing cooperation to include CO2-reduced steel, and signed a memorandum of understanding to this effect in April.

SSAB aims to deliver fossil-free steel to the market at a commercial scale during 2026 and to largely eliminate carbon dioxide emissions from our operations in around 2030.
