ArcelorMittal and RBB Steel Service Centre sign MoU on CO2 emissions reduction

RBB Steel Service Centre and ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products signed a Memorandum of Understanding focused on reducing CO2 emissions in the supply chain as well as using XCarb® solutions.

This agreement marks ArcelorMittal’s first partnership of this kind with an independent steel service centre in Poland.

RBB is a long-standing customer of ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products and has been buying a wide range of ArcelorMittal products for more than two decades, including hot rolled and cold rolled coils, hot dip galvanised products, and metallic coated products.

In line with the recently signed MoU, RBB has booked its first order of hot dip galvanised steel produced via the XCarb® recycled and renewably produced route.

“For many years, RBB has evolved in line with the concept of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, consistently implementing its goals, including the reduction of carbon footprint. Signing the contract for XCarb® solutions is another key step towards decarbonisation, which will help us and our customers achieve ESG goals. We believe that actions aligned with ESG criteria enhance the company’s reliability, competitiveness, and have a real impact on the functioning of future generations by building a more ecological future. We are pleased that, together with ArcelorMittal, we will jointly contribute to improving the environment,” said Wlodzimierz Borusiak, CEO of RBB Stal.

“We are delighted to have signed this agreement with RBB, which strengthens the work we are doing together on environmental sustainability in the industry sector,” Laurent Plasman, CMO Industry ArcelorMittal Europe – Flat Products, added.
