Tata Steel UK orders water treatment plant from PERT

The water treatment plant (WTP) will serve the state-of-the-art single EAF melt shop producing 450 tons/hour of liquid steel (over 3,000,000 tons per year) supplied by Tenova, with total cooling-water flow rate of more than 25,000 cubic meters per hour.

Tailor-made plant design has been developed for maximum space optimization, matching the footprint made available by the customer at the Port Talbot site.

The WTP is designed according to a total water recycling concept. In addition to open and closed cooling circuits, the plant features a dedicated treatment for raw water and drains reuse.

The WTP will be entirely designed, manufactured, and commissioned by PERT, within January 2028.
