GreenIron and Scandinavian Steel AB sign agreement for fossil-free iron

GreenIron and Scandinavian Steel AB have signed a collaboration agreement: Scandinavian Steel will become the exclusive distributor of GreenIron’s fossil-free iron, produced in Sandviken, Sweden.

The agreement covers a regular delivery of hydrogen DRI, which will be offered to the Nordic and European markets.

“This partnership is a milestone not just for Scandinavian Steel but for the entire industry. Offering fossil-free iron to our customers is not only important—it is essential. We are proud to be the first distributor in the world to deliver this groundbreaking product to the market,” commented Peter Witz, COO Scandinavian Steel.

“Our collaboration with Scandinavian Steel is a crucial part of our strategy to bring our technology to customers in the Nordics and Europe. Their expertise and extensive network make them an ideal partner in driving the green transition within the metal industry,” added Edward Murray, CEO GreenIron.

GreenIron is set to begin commercial production in Sandviken in 2025. As production scales up, it is expected to make a substantial impact in reducing carbon emissions and meeting the growing demand for environmentally responsible materials across the industry.
